Pace

I feel like for the first time in a while, I am experiencing everything at the proper pace. It's as if time isn't rushing by, I'm not hindered by a deadline, I'm not trying to cram 5 things into a 2 hour time block. Instead, I do laundry for a while, and I read my book while waiting. Then I clean up and take a shower. I walk down the street and grab lunch at a little Mexican cafe across the street. Now I'm in Lestat's drinking ice tea and checking my emails. It's only 1:40 and I've already gotten so much done, but not in a weird stressful way. I have work starting in 5 days and I'm so excited, but not to the point where I can't wait to get started.

There is a concert going on down the street and I can feel the bass and percussion beating on the soles of my feet. This city is the perfect size. It's not rushed and overwhelming like New York. It's not slow and boring like South Hadley, though Shadley could hardly be counted as anything more than a village...what I mean to say is that I love being here.

Now if only my hockey team would quit getting penalties and stop with the giveaways. I thought this was the championship, Philly better not win.
